Summit County Sheriff's deputies and Akron Police have captured Robert Campbell Jr the so-called whispering bank robber Friday afternoon.
Summit County Sheriff's Inspector Bill Holland tells AkronNewsNow.com an individual matching Campbell's description was located by deputies in a car parked on Kellogg Avenue in Akron.
As deputies approached the vehicle, the driver got out and Campbell crawled from the passenger seat into the driver's seat before taking off in the car.
The deputies then followed the car at a low rate of speed on Wilbeth Road before Campbell crashed into another vehicle on Kenmore Boulevard under the Manchester Road overpass.
Campbell was arrested without incident and taken into custody.
Authorities say the 31-year old is believed to be responsible for the robberies of the U.S. Bank on Manchester Road Thursday, the Charter One Bank on Waterloo Road Tuesday, and the First Merit Bank on Wedgewood Drive on Wednesday.
During at least two of the alleged robberies, authorities said Campbell would go up to the teller and whisper for them to give him all of the money with no dye pack before taking off in a waiting car.
