A Summit County court jury has found a 31-year old Elyria man guilty of robbery, escape, and resisting arrest in connection with the robbery of the Key Bank June 14th on Romig Road in Akron.

Willie Boone will be sentenced July 14th.

Boone walked into the bank wearing a black shirt, long black wig, sunglasses, and latex gloves. As he approached the counter demanding money, an officer working in the bank pulled his gun and ordered Boone to the ground. Boone eventually complied. As the officer went to holster his gun, Boone jumped up and made a run out the door of the bank. Boone and the officer wrestled, with Boone eventually running to a waiting SUV. He managed to get away, leaving his shirt and wig that came off in the struggle.
