An Akron barber helped thwart a robbery.

Around 2:30pm Wednesday afternoon, the Park Hill Fashions, at 920 East Wilbeth Road, was the target of a robbery attempt. Employees reported the suspect entered the beauty shop, pulled out a handgun and demanded money. A barber from the neighboring business noticed what was going on, pulled out his gun and confronted the suspect. The suspect fled on foot. Nothing was taken.

The suspect is a black male, 17 – 24 years old, 5’08” – 5’09”, wearing a red Rockawear coat and mask.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Akron Police Department.
