Kent State University students, staff and those who just like Golden Flashes football gathered at the KSU MAC Center to send the team off to Detroit.
The team will play Northern Illinois in the Mid-American Conference title game at Detroit's Ford Field on Friday night.
Head coach Darrell Hazell told the crowd of about 200 that it's been a long journey, but the goal is in sight..
He also urged as many Kent fans as possible should make the trip to Detroit to cheer on the Flashes to an MAC title.
The four buses carrying the team and band to Detroit saw youth support...kids from Franklin Elementary lined Route 43 to see the team off.
About a dozen buses filled with Kent State students will make the day-long trip to Detroit tomorrow.
