After a five-month investigation, the Akron Police made a pair of arrests in connection with a large heroin bust.

Police executed a search warrant in the 1400 block of Gurley Avenue early Wednesday morning. Akron Police Lieutenant Rick Edwards says recovered about a half pound of heroin with a street value of over $200,000.00.

Officers arrested Michael Dandridge and Lavon Williams in connection with the crime.

Both men were charged with various drug-related charges related to heroin and were booked into the Summit County Jail.

Police say Dandridge was taken into custody on Gurley Avenue by the Akron SWAT Team. With the help of Cuyahoga Falls Police, Lavon Williams was taken into custody during an investigative traffic stop in Cuyahoga Falls.

Dandridge was out on bond from another heroin-related arrest in Cuyahoga Falls earlier this year.
