An attempt to rob a home in Green Thursday night completely backfired for the suspect, leaving him with severe cuts on his hand.
Summit County Sheriff's Inspector Bill Holland says it happened Thursday around 10:30PM at a home on Dewalt Drive. The homeowner called 9-1-1 and told deputies the suspect pounded on her sliding glass door, demanding to be let into the house. The suspect was holding a silver handgun when she saw him through a window.
The man broke part of the glass door with his hand, that's when the victim retreated to another part of the house to call 9-1-1. The suspect fled the scene without entering the home, but he did have some bad cuts on his hand.
The victim described the suspect as a white male in his early 20s, about 5'7" tall, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with white lettering. He was clean shaven with blond or brown hair.
Deputies are also checking around the area hospitals to see if anyone matching that description has received treatment since the incident.
Holland asks you to call their office if you have any information regarding this case.
