Copley teachers and administrators have agreed to pay freezes in a new 3-year contract.

The Fairlawn-Bath Patch reports that the contract with salary freezes and no state step increases for teachers has been approved by the Copley-Fairlawn Board of Education.

The new contract will last through June 29, 2014. The Copley Teachers Association approved the agreement Thursday afternoon.

The step increases will be incorporated in the state's minimum teacher salary based on a teacher's education and years of experience. No changes will be made to health care in the contract.

The board approved contracts with pay freezes for Superintendent Brian Poe, Assistant Superintendent Aaron Sable and Treasurer John Wheadon after an executive session was held on Tuesday.
