The Summit County Elections Board has certified candidates for the mayor and council races in Norton and Tallmadge for the September Primary.

Elections Director Ron Koehler says Tom Jones and Mike Zita will vie for mayor in Norton and incumbent Republican David Kline and Democrat Jack Sarver for mayor in Tallmadge.

There are also four contested ward council races in Tallmadge.

The Tallmadge Law and Finance Director's races are uncontested with only one candidate for each

Koehler says since not enough candidates filed from each party to hold a primary in the two communities, the candidates will move on to the November general election ballot.
