Copley Police Investigate Apparent Murder-Suicide

The Summit County Medical Examiner's Office and Copley Police are investigating the deaths of an elderly couple as a murder-suicide.

Copley Police Chief Michael Mier tells AkronNewsNow the bodies of the 86 year old man and his 89-year old wife were found by relatives in their bedroom in their home on Aberth Drive around 9:30 this morning. Both had died of gunshot wounds

Mier says the Medical Examiner will conduct autopsies.

Mier says the couple had recent health problems.

He is currently a member of the Summit County Emergency Management Committee. An Akron native, Larry is a 1970 graduate of Hower High School and a 1975 graduate of the University of Akron.
