The Akron-Summit Convention and Visitors Bureau has a new President and CEO
The Board of Directors chose Gregg M. Mervis to become President & CEO of the Convention and Visitors Bureau and the John S. Knight Center.

“We conducted a national search for a person to lead the Bureau,” said Gregory Bean, Chairman of the A/SCVB Board of Directors, in a Friday news release.. “Our search committee was diligent in reviewing the qualifications of a number of candidates and was unanimous in recommending Gregg for the position.”
Mervis began his career with the Akron-Summit Convention and Visitors Bureau and Knight Center in 1995 as Director of Sales, and became Vice President in 1997. He was appointed Chief Operating Officer in 2008 under Hamo. He attended The University of Akron and for 11 years held various positions at the Quaker Hilton & Mall in downtown Akron and was Director of Sales and Marketing when he left to join the A/SCVB and Center.
