Akron Police are investigating two weekend street robberies. Early Friday evening, a 20 year old man, walking near the intersection of Crouse Street and Forrest Street, was assaulted and robbed. The victim told police he was approached from behind by two suspects. One suspect choked the victim while the other punched him in the face. When the victim fell to the ground, the suspects started kicking him, and demanding money. The victim reached into his pocket and threw approximately $70 on the ground. The suspects grabbed the money and fled on foot.
Responding officers found the suspects near the intersection of East Exchange Street and Excelsior Avenue. Officers arrested Julian J. Wing, 20, of Forrest Drive and Azontie S. Christian, 19, of Wildwood Avenue. They were charged with robbery and booked into the Summit County Jail.

The victim suffered minor injuries.

Shortly before 3 Sunday morning, three individuals were getting into their cars parked near Kenmore Boulevard and 15th Street SW, when two men approached them. The men asked them if they needed help. When the victims said no, the suspects pulled out handguns and robbed the three of their belongings.

The suspects were arrested near the intersection of 17th Street SW and Idaho Avenue. Officers apprehended Damion J. Davis, 23, of Kenmore Boulevard and Demetrius L. Richardson, 20, of Everton Drive. They were charged with three counts of Aggravated Robbery and booked into the Summit County Jail.

Officers recovered two handguns and the items taken during the robbery.
