A Lodi teenager who police say stabbed members of his family will be tried as an adult.

Court officials in Medina County tell News Channel 5 the 16-year old will face two counts of attempted murder and four counts of felonious assault in connection with the incident.

Lodi Police say the boy stabbed his brother and then attacked his parents inside their Evergreen Drive home April 5.

Authorities still don't know what prompted the attack, and the boy's mother told 911 dispatchers that her son wasn't violent.

The boy was ruled competent to stand trial May 30 in Medina County Juvenile Court.
