Two area racers came away as national champions at the 75th Annual FirstEnergy All-American Soap Box Derby at Derby Downs in Akron.
The derby reports that 14 year-old Freddy Atchison of Cuyahoga Falls took the Masters Rally division. And Maddie Minch of Strongsville took the Masters division championship.
Other winners hailed from Vallejo, California, St. Clairsville, Ohio, Madison, Wisconsin, and Cloverdale, Indiana.
