Fairlawn has named a new interim chief to the fire department.

The Fairlawn-Bath Patch reports that Captain Russ Hose, 55, will be filling in the spot for retiring Chief Glenn Goodrich.

Hose has been with the Fairlawn force since 1982 and was an Air Force firefighter for four years.

Although Goodrich is retiring, City Council may appoint him to a part-time job as special projects director for the city.
