Springfield Twp. Police Investigate Child Enticement

Springfield Township Police are warning parents of a man who has approached children in the Lakemore area and offered them candy and a ride. The suspect is described as white or hispanic with spiked hair, and tattoos on his left arm.

Police Sergeant Eric East tells AkronNewsNow "We had a suspicious vehicle and male in the Lakemore area. The male approached two separate children at two separate locations. One of the children he offered candy, and the other he offered a ride to. Neither of the children accepted anything from the male and police was notified of the location."

Parents are asked to observe their children and be on the lookout for a "boxy brown four door car" with clothes hanging in the back seat. Meanwhile the police department has extra patrols are in the area where the alleged incident occurred .

"We are saturating  the area were these incidence occurred in the Village of Lakemore just so that we control that area and ward off anything that might happen in that area" Says East.

Suspicious vehicle and male seen in the Lakemore area. Vehicle is described as a boxy tan 4 door with clothing hanging in rear. Male is a white or hispanic male, dark spiked hair, and tattoos on his left arm. Male has approached children in the area and offered them candy and a ride. Parents are asked to observe their children and report any suspicious activity to the Springfield Twp. Police @ (330) 643 2181. Extra patrols are in the area.
