While responding to a call for gunshots late Tuesday night, Akron Police recovered cash, drugs, and a pistol on the city's west side.
Police were called to Orlando Avenue around midnight Tuesday after hearing reports of shots fired. Once they got there, they stopped a man running towards the back yard with a plastic baggie of marijuana in his pants pockets.
Other officers noticed another man kicking shell casings in the driveway in an attempt to hide them. Police then searched the home after getting consent from a woman who resided at the home. Once inside they discovered over 200 grams of crack cocaine, over $6,000.00 in cash and a handgun
42-year old David Cawthon was arrested on charges of cocaine trafficking and drug paraphernalia among others. 22-year old Dominic Gray will be facing charges of obstructing official business, domestic violence and disorderly conduct.
Both men were booked into the Summit County Jail.
