It was surely an emotional Memorial Day in Kent, where family members of Army Spc. Adam Hamilton were on hand as a road in front of Kent Roosevelt High School was named after him.
Hamilton was killed in action last year in Afghanistan.
Hamilton's now-retired high school principal Roger Sidoti told Channel 3 News the ceremony and road dedication were fitting.
"I can't think of a better way to honor a fallen hero than to have a proclamation and at this strip of road in front of the high school where he graduated and he had great memories and in front of the cemetery where he looks over this school every day - this is perfect. This is just perfect."
Hamilton's mother, Nancy Creston, thanked the community for ongoing support.
