A sure sign spring has sprung and summer is just around the corner: air quality advisories posted for ozone and fine particles in the air for most of northeast Ohio from the lakeshore south to Akron, including Portage and Medina Counties as well.

The advisory includes tomorrow/today (Wednesday) and Thursday afternoon. Sensitive groups, such as those with breathing difficulties, should make sure to consider air-conditioned locations.

(NOACA) An Air Quality Advisory for ozone and fine particles has been issued for Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Medina, Portage and Summit Counties.

The advisory will be effective from Wednesday afternoon through Thursday afternoon. Air quality levels will be 'unhealthy for sensitive groups' during this period.

If you are in the 'Sensitive Groups' category of children, the elderly and those with breathing difficulties, please monitor your outdoor activity.

Pollutants accumulated due to stable atmospheric conditions will form ozone in the presence of abundant sunlight. The particulate pollutants assisted by moisture will remain suspended in atmosphere resulting in unhealthy air quality for sensitive groups.
