  AKRON, Ohio – Every player in the Tallmadge baseball dugout was eager for a second chance against Archbishop Hoban and it showed in the Blue Devils' 4-0 championship win over the Knights to win the Akron Division II District. One year ago Hoban (18-9) ousted Tallmadge (20-8) in the Regional Semifinals 7-2, and the Blue Devils were not about to let that happen again. Maybe most motivated of all was senior ace pitcher Tucker Linder. The Kent State University recruit absorbed the loss last year, but came back with a dominant four-hit, seven-strikeout complete game win on the mound and a 3-for-3 day at the plate with a run scored.
