Nearly 20 Minerva Elementary School students were sent to the hospital - but none with serious injuries - after a school bus crash on Route 30 in Canton Township.

Capt. Scott Johnson of the Canton Township Fire Department says that the crash happened on Route 30 eastbound at just before 1 PM.

"We had a school bus that had struck a highway road construction vehicle," Capt. Johnson tells AkronNewsNow.com, "one of the directional, trailer type units."

Johnson says none of the children sent to the hospital had serious or visible injuries, mainly complaining of minor head and neck injuries.  The bus driver was treated and released.

The students were on board the bus on a field trip returning from Canton's McKinley Museum.
