Alliance police arrested a 29-year-old mother after her daughter took her drugs and hid it in a school locker.

The 13-year-old girl told police she hid her mother's marijuana and rolling papers inside her locker at school to prevent her mother, Jessica R. Dewell, from using the drugs.

"When officers spoke to the student, she said she had actually taken them from home. Her mother promised her she wouldn't use drugs anymore," said Lt. John Jenkins.

Officers contacted Dewell and found drug paraphernalia in the house after she agreed to let police search her home.

She has been charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and child endangering.
