A 40-year-old Akron man has been charged with assault and criminal damaging after hitting a 17-year-old boy in the leg with a baseball bat on Labor Day.

News Channel 5 reports that Jeff Willis warned the 17-year-old boy to stay away from his daughter and then later found a text message from the teen on his daughter's phone.
