Catalytic Convertors Stolen From Cars

Akron police arrested three men after they were found allegedly tampering with a car in a parking lot Monday morning.

A witness told police they saw three men messing around with a gold car on Byers Avenue around 4 a.m.

When police arrived, they found several cars in the parking lot with missing catalytic converters.

Officers found the three suspects in possession of five catalytic convertors, a saw and a car jack.

Jeremy Ford, 31; Anthony Mahoney Sr., 30, - both from Akron - and 27 year-old Robert Callahan of Cleveland were charged with possession of criminal tools, theft, receiving stolen property and vandalism.

They were booked into the Summit County Jail.
