The Canton Post of the State Highway Patrol is investigating a two car crash that claimed a life. The crash occurred near State Route 43 in Sandy Township in Stark County shortly after 8:30 Friday night.

57-year old Dennis McLaughlin of Waynesburg was killed in the crash. The driver of the other car was treated at Mercy Medical Center for his injuries and released.

Ironically McLaughlin was wearing his seat belt, the surviving driver was not wearing a seatbelt.

Alcohol appears to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
