Two suspects were arrested after a Springfield Township home was found engulfed in flames.

Firefighters were able to control the blaze in the 2400 block of Ladd St. Thursday morning, but the house is a total loss.

The homeowner was not at the residence at the time of the fire, but officers say witnesses lead them to two suspects  seen leaving the home shortly before it started.

Both Doug Congrove Jr., 22, of Springfield Township, and Allen Keller, 21, of Akron, were taken into custody. The two were charged with felony burglary and theft. Keller also faces aggravated arson charges.

Following an investigation, police say it appeared they had burglarized the home, then set the fire and stood by to watch it burn.

Both are now being held in the Summit County Jail.
