Two Medina County couples are taking action in federal court against a gas-drilling company for allegedly exposing them to toxic chemicals and contaminating their wells.

The Beacon Journal reports two families on State Road in Granger Township have filed lawsuits against Landmark 4 LLC claiming that a drilling in 2008 at Allardale Park caused problems with their water.

Mark and Sandra Mangan and William and Stephanie Boggs say the drilling caused health injuries in their families. They also say their homes have drooped in value.

Both couples are seeking around $75,000 each in damages. Landmark 4 has denied the allegations.

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources investigated the issue and found no link between the gas-drilling and the families.

A federal health agency says the problems may be linked to the wells at Allardale Park or a nearby abandoned well.
