A new dining option is coming to Summit Mall's food court on April 1.
The Ohio Burger Company will begin grilling customized burgers made will 100 percent Ohio beef this spring.
“We’re all about being green and local,” said Benne, owner of The Ohio Burger Company in a press release.
“Our burgers will be made of 100 percent beef raised within 30 miles of our location. We will also locally-source our ingredients as much as possible, such as onion rings from Garfield Heights. Quality is key.”
The new eatery will add 10 new jobs at the Fairlawn shopping destination.
Press Release:
The Ohio Burger Company will offer a variety of side items including fresh cut fries that you can watch them slice, onion rings and loaded fries with chili, cheese, salsa and more. More than 20 toppings will be available to customize your burger, including a variety of cheeses. Chicken and fish sandwiches also will be available.
The restaurant is a new concept by local restaurateur Ray Benne, who has more than 12 years experience in the restaurant business. He previously owned Cyber Pete’s Internet Café in Bedford, Ohio, the state’s first cyber café. He hopes to expand the Ohio Burger Company to six locations over the next three years.
“We’re all about being green and local,” said Benne, owner of The Ohio Burger Company. “Our burgers will be made of 100 percent beef raised within 30 miles of our location. We will also locally-source our ingredients as much as possible, such as onion rings from Garfield Heights. Quality is key.”
All packaging used in the restaurant will be made from recycled material or be recyclable.
“We are pleased to partner with a local restaurateur to offer another unique dining option for our customers,” said Kate Anderson, area director of mall marketing and business development, Simon Property Group.
In preparation for the April 1 opening, the restaurant is looking to hire 10 part-time employees to work approximately 30-hours per week at the new location. Applications and more information are available online at www.ohioburgercompany.com.
“Come see us on April 1,” said Benne. “You know you want one!”
