Two gunmen involved in an Akron street robbery got downright brutal after they robbed six people who were standing outside a house in the 100 block of Dodge Avenue around 12:30 Thursday morning.

Akron Police Captain Dan Zampelli says the robbers took cell phones and cash from the victims and then pisto-whipped two of the victims before fleeing.

Police have a description of one of the suspects. He's a black male who was wearing a black jacket blue jeans and a red bandana.

Earlier Wednesday evening shortly after 8pm two men were standing at the corner of North Adams and Upson Street when a man with a gun approached them and demanded money. He fled with an undetermined amount of cash.

Akron Police detectives think the two robberies may have been committed by the same suspect.
