If you are behind on your payments of fines to Barberton Municipal Court, the Court has decided to extend the deadline for issuing bench warrants for those who haven't paid up, or are behind on their payments.

Barberton Municipal Courts Clerk Diana Stevenson says the amnesty program has met with overwhelming positive response, and that's been a susrprise.

" People who fall behind in those payments without making other arrangements will be dealing with the BMV.(Bureau Of Motor Vehicles). They will not allow people who have those outstanding fines who are behind on their payments to renew their license, bot their drivers license and their license plates," says Stevenson.

Stevenson says the bench warrant suspension program will be extended to March 19th. The program was implemented by the court in an effort to collect $3.4 million in delinquent unpaid criminal fines and court costs.
