A water main break has closed the Akron General Health and Wellness Center along with a nearby spa on Medina Road.
Director of Media and Public Relations for Akron General Jim Gosky tells AkronNewsNow.com how they discovered the break.
"We discovered the break earlier this morning, it happened around two or three in the morning in a bathroom area in the facility."
Because of the water damage, the lifestyle area of the facility was closed Monday. It is not yet known when the facilities will reopen.
Gosky says the damage was minmal at this point.
"The damage was pretty minor, it was clean water that came from the pipe, no equipment was damaged in any way, just some carpeting that may need replacing, but it wasn't anything that caused any significant damage."
The emergency room was also not affected by the break and those with medical appointments still had them as scheduled.
He (Gosky) is optimistic on when the facility will reopen for public use.
"We're looking to be back and fully operational by Tuesday morning."
