Medina County: Nearly 200 Animals Die In Barn Fire

Nearly 200 animals died after a barn caught on fire in Medina County early Sunday.

The Beacon Journal report fire officials responded to the blaze around 6:30 a.m. on Bear Swamp Road in Montville Township.

Barn owner Jim Farnsworth was sleeping inside the barn when the fire broke out.

He was able to rescue seven pigs and about 70 sheep.

Officials are still investigating the cause of the fire.
