The cause of the fire that damaged the VFW facility on Main Street in Cuyahoga Falls earlier this week has been ruled accidental.

The Beacon Journal reports the fire started after smoking material was improperly thrown away.

Fire officials estimate the blaze on Monday caused around $300,000 in structural damage.

A Cuyahoga Falls firefighter suffered minor injuries. Departments from at least 8 other communities helped to put out the flames.
