A 14-year-old student in Green was arrested Tuesday after allegedly posting threats on Facebook

Summit County Sheriff's Inspector Bill Holland said the student was charged with aggravated menacing, a first-degree misdemeanor .

"Apparently, the 14-year-old was making threats to kill this other student with a gun and shoot him in the knee caps," said Holland.

Holland also said the student threatened to assault him using a baseball bat.

The 14-year-old attends the LEAP program in Green on East Turkeyfoot Road.

The student had been previously arrested for bringing a firearm to Coventry High School this year. The 14-year-old was transported to a juvenile facility.

Holland said authorities investigate every threat made including on Facebook.

"If they turn out to be a hoax, I guess that's the best case scenario, we still look into them to make sure no one is in any sort of harm."
