Akron Police have made an arrest in connection with recent bank robberies in the city.
Following up on an anonymous tip, city police officers aided by the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, and University of Akron Police arrested 23-year old Christian Chaplin of Hudson.
Chaplin was charged with two counts of robbery and was booked into the Summit County Jail.
Shortly after noon, on February 10th, Chaplin allegedly entered the PNC Bank,in the one-hundred block of East Exchange Street, and handed the teller a note stating that he had a bomb and a gun and wanted $2,000.00.
Around 2pm on February 23rd, Chaplin allegedly entered the Charter One Bank in the three hundred block of South Broadway, and handed the teller a note stating that he had a bomb and gun and wanted $2,000.00.
