A elderly Walton Hills woman who had been missing since early Saturday was found dead near her home.

NewsChannel 5 reports that 83 year-old Norma Reed was last seen Saturday at about 1:30 a.m. at her Walton Hills home.

She was found in a shallow ditch not far from that home at around 6 p.m. Saturday, after a K-9 officer found a pink shirt and black purse nearby, then found the location where her body was buried in snow.

Police say Mrs. Reed suffered from a mental disorder, and a missing adult alert had been issued for her on Saturday.

Walton Hills police tell NewsChannel 5 that her death doesn't appear to be suspicious, but the death is still under investigation.
