Springfield Township Police confronted a modern day Robin Hood when they responded to a domestic disturbance call early Friday morning.
Shortly before 3 a.m., officers arrived at a home on Front Street in Lakemore where they found 42-year old Gregory Bolyard sitting at the kitchen table with a crossbow.
Police say Bolyard then approached his live in girlfriend, Hester Walters, and Officer Brian Troyer with the crossbow while loading it.
Troyer shielded Walters and pulled her to safety outside the home. Police say Bolyard then barricaded himself inside the home with the weapon.
That's when the SWAT team was called in. After lengthy negotiations, Bolyard surrendered peacefully.
He's charged with domestic violence, menacing, inducing panic, possession of a weapon while intoxicated and resisting arrest.
