A complaint leads police to a suspect's digital devices and formal charges.

The Canton Repository reports police charged Ronald L. Whitmore, 59, of Canton, with the rape of a child under the age of 13. He also faces pandering sexually oriented material with a minor.

The Canton Police Department detectives bureau and agents from the FBI/Stark County Crime Task Force took him into custody Tuesday.

Investigators used a search warrant to obtain Whitmore's computer and digital camera.
