Akron police and the Summit County Medical Examiner's Office are investigating a Christmas night homicide.
The medical examiner's office says Alex Wells, 46, was shot in his driveway in the 800-block of Hardesty Boulevard. It happened just after 11:00 p.m. following a confrontation.
Wells was pronounced dead a short time later. An autopsy will be conducted today.
12:45 p.m. Police have identified a woman who was also shot outside the Wells house. Leigh Ann Rosen, 32, of Baird Street, was taken to Akron General Medical Center with a gunshot wound in a shoulder. Her injuries did not appear to be life threatening, according to police.
