A man attempting to find a love connection on Facebook will spend some time behind bars on rape charges.
Daran Thomas will be spending the next eight years in prison for the rape of a woman he met on the social networking site.
After the two linked up on Facebook, Thomas invited the woman over to his house, where he professed his love for her, saying he wanted to get married and have kids. She then became a little uneasy and wanted to leave, refusing Thomas' requests for sex.
He then raped the woman, threatening to hit her when she tried to stop him. After the attack she reported the incident and was treated at a local hospital.
Thomas began calling and texting the victim while she was still at the hospital and continued to harass her, even threatening her on Facebook, over the course of the next few days.
A jury found Thomas guilty of the rape November 1.
