A mother and her two children were arrested after police say they assaulted two brothers who were playing guitars in an Akron alley.
Akron Police Lt. Rick Edwards says it started around 6:30 Monday night behind buildings in the 900 block of Kenmore Blvd. with an argument between the two men and an 11-year old boy. It escalated after the boy's mother and 15-year-old brother pulled up in a car. The 15-year-old grabbed his brother's bicycle and swung it, striking both victims, while the mother hit one of the victims with a tire pressure gauge she had in her hand. One of the victims had to be taken to Akron General with serious facial injuries.
31-year-old Deanna Hillyer and her 15-year-old son face charges of felonious assault and disorderly conduct. The 11-year-old faces charges of assault and disorderly conduct. The mother was taken to the Summit County Jail and the sons were placed in juvenile detention.
