Games to Watch
Hoban at Barberton (LIVE on WAKR) The Magics, and QB John Cominsky in particular, have impressed in the early going. Cominsky put up 210 yards last week, and he'll need another big performance against a much-improved Knights squad.
Wadsworth at Highland This battle of undefeateds may be an early-season indication of who will win the Suburban League or challenge Tallmadge for it. Wadsworth RB Martice Jackson has rattled off three straight 200-yard performances. Highland QB Bruce Kinsey has been as good as advertised, going 32-62 for 491 yards so far this season.
Cardinal Mooney at #1 SVSM The top-ranked Irish get a test tonight from an always tough Cardinal Mooney team that demolished Buchtel a week ago with five different players seeing the endzone. For SVSM, Parris Campbell scored three TDs last week, including a 48 yard punt return for a touchdown, in a 49-12 win against Woodridge
Stow at Cuyahoga Falls Stow has earned a spot on the high school football radar, and they'll look to prove why they deserve it against NOC rival Cuyahoga Falls. Stow was slow to get going in their 21-7 win against Firestone last week, but got a pick 6 and a punt return for touchdown from Brian Groves to seal the win. Cuyahoga Falls collapsed in the second half against Kent Roosevelt, giving up 35 unanswered points to lose 35-10.
Copley at Tallmadge Copley had a relatively weak out-of-conference schedule, so their run to 3-0 has gone largely under the radar. They get a major test tonight against Tallmadge, who begins a title defense in the Suburban League opener.
