The Summit County Medical Examiner's Office is still looking for family of a man shot and killed last week on Alphada Avenue.
Amandeep Singh, 21, was killed during an altercation with another man September 12th.
A native of India, Singh lived alone on East Tallmadge Avenue.
Medical Examiner Lisa Kohler spoke with AkronNewsNow and said her office knew finding Singh's family was going to be a difficult process.
"When someone comes into our office, we have an idea of who their potential next of kin is. In this case, we were advised early on that his parents were deceased and there were no known living relatives" Said Kohler.
Singh also lived at a Fairway Park apartment in Copley Township, and was recently paroled from prison after serving two years for robbery and assault.
Kohler says "I don't know if it's an issue of where he was originally from or is it just the fact that he is now alone and has no parents living or any siblings, but that's what were hoping to find out if there's another relative living in the area."
Akron Police have made an arrest in the case, Marcus Turner, 36, is being held in the Summit County Jail on aggravated murder and felonious assault charges.
"Then we would be able to go forward with final arrangements based on having made a diligent search for family. We would arrange with the jurisdiction where he lived to take care of the burial arrangements" Said Kohler.
Anyone that may have information on Singhs family is asked to contact the Medical Examiner's Office.
Kohler concluded in saying "If anyone has information, please call our office. The number is 330-643-2101. Gary Gunther is my chief investigator and he's helping facilitate this search."
