Police Search For Meat Truck Robbers

Akron Police are beefing up an investigation into the robbery of a meat truck driver that occurred last night.

It happened near the intersection of East South and Sherman Streets shortly after 8:00. The driver told police two men allegedly approached his truck armed with handguns and demanded money from him. The suspects took an unknown amount of money from the victim and fled the scene. The victim then drove to a nearby gas station and called police.

Police describe the suspects as two black males.  One of them ranges from 18 to 20 years of age, is 5'10" to 6'01" tall, weighs 190 to 210 lbs and was wearing a black shirt and dark shorts.  The second suspect ranges from 19 to 21 years of age, is 5'07" to 5'10" tall, weighs 200 to 215 lbs and was wearing a white shirt and black or dark shorts.
