Akron police have charged a 33-year-old suspect in connection with a hit-skip incident that injured a woman who was training for the Akron Marathon.
NewsChannel 5 reports that David Godbee II is charged with hit-skip, failure to stop at a stop sign and driving under suspension. All of the counts are misdemeanors.
He pleaded not guilty, and is scheduled for trial October 15th.
Tina Byers was training for her first marathon when she was hit by an SUV on Aug. 6.at Alphada Avenue at Hyde Park Avenue
Byers had serious bruises to her back, hip and leg. She's attempting a comeback to try and compete in the Akron Marathon.
