Three people have been arrested for their roles in a party near the University of Akron that got way out of hand.
The Beacon Journal reports 21-year-old UA student Nathan Knutty and 19-year-old Ryan Malecha both face charges of rioting. 22-year-old Timothy Wallette has already pleaded guilty to failure to diperse and disorderly conduct and paid a fine.
More than 1,000 people packed onto Sumner St. August 31 for an extension of the annual Sumnerfest party. Some in the crowd threw beer bottles at police and even tipped over a car. Akron Police Capt. Dan Zampelli said more arrests could be forthcoming if police can identify more people who were involved.
Knutty and Malecha will be arraigned Friday.
