A Green man is in trouble for allegedly selling a stolen trailer. Joseph Sparrow, 43, hasn't been charged with stealing it, although Summit County sheriff's deputies say more charges are pending. They were called when the people who responded to an ad on craigslist paid $800 for the trailer, but guess what happened when they got to the title office? It came back as stolen. Deputies wound up at Sparrow's house, where they found two more trailers, one with no VIN and another with a VIN that can't be read.
On August 29th, the theft of a utility trailer was reported in Jackson Township. A report was filed with the Jackson Police Department and an investigation was initiated into the matter.
On the above date, two individuals responded to an ad on Craigslist and purchased a utility trailer for $800. When the purchasers attempted to obtain a title for the trailer, it was identified as the trailer stolen from Jackson Township. It appears the buyers of the trailer were unaware that it was stolen.
The seller of the stolen trailer was identified at Joseph Sparrow, age 43, of Green. The Summit County Sheriff’s Office conducted a search of Sparrow’s residence at recovered two additional trailers, HVAC tools, a firearm, and U.S. currency.
