Akron Police Investigate Attempted Rape

Police are investigating a robbery and attempted rape of a 33-year-old woman Friday night.

The victim told police she was walking to her car around 8 p.m. in the 1300 block of Copley Road.

Two men with guns forced the woman in her car and drove to an area near Schumacher Street and Russel Avenue.

The suspects attempted to sexually assault the 33-year-old woman but she escaped and called police at a nearby bar.

She was transported to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The suspects took the victims car and purse during the robbery. Police soon found the vehicle the next day.

The suspects are described as two black males, 20 – 25 years old. They were around 5’8”, 150 lbs, wearing all dark clothing.
