Three people arrested out of 40 vehicles pulled over during checkpoints last night on South Arlington and West Market Street. One of the three refused to take a breathalyzer while the other two tested .094 -- slightly over the legal limit of .08.
Overall out of more than 500 vehicles moving through the two checkpoints 19 drivers were nabbed for driving under suspension, three more without a license and three for drug possession.

(Summit County OVI Task Force) The Summit County OVI Task Force conducted sobriety checkpoints at 107 South Arlington Street and West Market Street at West Street in the City of Akron on Friday, August 16th 2013. The results of the two checkpoints are as follows:
501- Vehicles passed through the two checkpoints in total
40- Vehicles were directed into the diversion areas for further investigation or violations
03- People were arrested for “Operating a Motor Vehicle under the Influence”
19- People were arrested for driving under suspension
03- People were cited for driving without a license
03- People were arrested for drug possession
02- People were cited possessing open containers of alcohol in a motor vehicle
01- Person was arrested on a misdemeanor Warrant
05- People were cited for failure to wear seatbelts
01- Person was cited for failing to use seatbelts to secure their children
02- People were cited for driving without a license
01- One person was cited for operating with an expired license.
01- Person was cited for operating left of center
06- Vehicles were impounded
Of the three (03) people arrested for Operating a Vehicle Under the influence of Alcohol, one person refused to provide a breath sample. The two who opted to provide a breath sample had an average blood alcohol concentration of .094.
