The group was small, but their mission was large - to save the Highland Square Theatre.

The Highland Square Neighborhood Association held a fundraiser Saturday for the theatre.
Lisa Bostwick, president of the association, said Highland Square business owners, past and present, came out to support the fundraiser because they are a part of the history of the theatre.
Bostwick also said by saving the theatre, the stories of the many "mom and pop" businesses in the Square over the years will be saved as well.
Brothers Dick and Nelson Wallace, whose father and uncles built the theatre in the 1930s, also came out to support saving the theater.
