ACORN Able To Return To Ohio
3/13/2010 10:54:12 AM  |  JoAnne Viviano, Associated Press Writer

The community organizing group ACORN is not prohibited from returning to Ohio under a settlement reached in a lawsuit that claimed it used fraudulent voter registration practices.

A copy of the confidential settlement obtained by The Associated Press shows that ACORN has agreed to refrain from supporting or enabling others to engage in certain "unlawful conduct." It also will surrender its Ohio business license.

The deal settles claims brought by the 1851 Center for Constitutional Law. A lawyer for the center had said the agreement would keep ACORN from reopening under another name in Ohio.

In other states, including New York and California, ACORN chapters have disbanded and resumed operations under new names.

ACORN - the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now - has already closed its Ohio offices.

We should beat the sh*t out of Acorn. After all they are trying to help some of the poorest people in our communities. Yet, Blackwater now XE still continues to enjoy millions of dollars in federal contracts and actually kills innocent people...but that's all okay..just so we have our priorities correct.
